Most companies promote their people to managers based on their skill at doing the task; they are then asked to manage others to perform. It's therefore no surprise that managers can fail when their focus fails to move from what is being done to rather how others are doing it instead. This shift in focus is important because as a manager, other aspects such as communicating well, leading by example and behavior, your own self-management and of course patience suddenly become a lot more important than they may have in the past. You will need all of this to understand others and then motivate the performance you want from your team.
Understanding those skills and how to display them will be the centerpiece of this workshop.
ü UNDERSTAND the difference between leadership and management, and the role for each in a team
ü KNOW the key principles to follow for better time management
ü UNDERSTAND how to manage different personalities in your team
ü HAVE an easy-to-use toolkit to learn individual motivations
ü LEARN how to delegate effectively and successfully monitor performance in a way that maintains morale
ü Confidently APPLY the 4 stages of team development
ü OBTAIN strategies to use when dealing with difficult situations and tension in your team
